About Us
We are H1Z1 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
H1Z1 is: Marq Pointer on lead vocals, Patrick Gunderson playing guitar, Jake Fromkin on drums, and Leaf Wruk on bass.
Our Story
From opposite sides of town, both born and raised in Milwaukee, Marq and Pat connected as high schoolers through mutual acquaintances and shared musical taste. Beginning in 2010 the two original H1Z1 members have continued to make music and build their friendship together ever since.

Having grown up an hour outside of town in the tourist haven of Lake Geneva, Leaf didn't enter the picture until 2019, also through mutual acquaintances and shared musical taste. Over the following years, Marq and Pat became family, and the city of Milwaukee came to be home.

Reigning from Chicagoland, Jake joined H1Z1 in 2021 propelling us forward into our current lineup.

We write music with a wide range of influences, incorporating nu-metal, thrash, groove, and rap to create an exciting, high energy sound unmistakable as H1Z1. We write music about anything from zombies and gonorrhea, to trauma and the city of Milwaukee.

No matter how heavy the riffs and how dark the subject matter, H1Z1 is all about the good vibes. Some of our values as a band include unity in diversity, resilience, strength, creativity, endurance, hope, peacemaking, authenticity, bravery, and patience. We hope to share these values among crushing riffs and relatable content with others. An H1Z1 show is a safe space for all.
